I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

Have you determined your pattern of smoking? i.e. in the morning with your first cup of coffee? In the car going to work? Do you smoke when you are bored? Hungry? Is it social for you, i.e. do you go outside at work to smoke so you can chat with your colleagues? Make a diary of the times you smoke to determine if there is a pattern of habitual vs. physical needs to smoke. Also, start going to the gym and use a treadmill or other machine. Start gaging your progress. The more you begin to do at the gym, the less you’ll want to have a ciggie to mar your progress. What worked best for me is that I found a boyfriend who wanted to kiss me all the time and I didn’t want to offend him by tasting like an ashtray.
eat bubble gum but first ask a docter
zyban …. i used it ….smoke free for 3 years now ….. don’t even crave , it was designed as an anti depressant for the gulf war …. the side effect is it stop you smoking …. ask your doctor about it …..i smoked 30 a day for 20 years
my hub & I have smoked for 30ish years –he went on the patch & hasn’t had a smoke since last February
I went cold turkey, but the key is to change your physical and social surroundings. I essentially locked myself in the house for a month. I went to work and that was all. NO BOOZE. NO BARS, NO CLUBS. Avoid ANY situation that you traditionally smoked. You absolutely must avoid freinds who smoke. It is too easy to bum one, and then you are back where you started.
Try cold turkey – but in addition try to replace the smoking with some physical activity that you enjoy like cycling to work, going to gym, hiking, jogging etc.
the bible says your body is a temple. You need alternative habits
keep yourself busy to divert your attention like going places where you’re constantly moving.
Congratulations for wanting to quit. That desire is what will make the difference between success and failure. Consult your county health department. They will have some sort of program to stop smoking. It is a comprehensive plan that will look at what hasn’t worked so that they don’t repeat that. They will look at why you get sick when you quit and how to deal with that.
If the county doesn’t have something like that, talk to a doctor. There are options available there as well. Zyban, Nicotine patches and gum may work if put into a program of activity modification.
Best wishes on carrying out your desires to quit.
Just quit! You don’t really need patches, gum or something else, it’s a 100% mental thing. Trust me, it works if you really want to do it! I quit two years ago and I was a 1 pack-a-day smoker.
You have to have the willpower to stop, which you’ve already proven you have since you’re trying really hard. This is what I’ve tried to get my mom to try, and everyone I’ve talked to has agreed it’s a good way to stop.
Take a notebook (or just several pieces of paper) and every time you smoke a cigarette put down a tally. At the end of the day add them up.
Make sure every day you smoke the same amount of cigarettes.
After three days go by cut yourself down by one or two cigarettes (you’re preference, if you want to quit faster I suggest two. But if you don’t want to get buzzed out by lack of nicotine too fast then go one at a time).
Like this.
Smoke: 25 cigarette’s a day
keep smoking it until the 3rd day
Smoke: 24 or 23 cigarette’s a day.
By the time you get down to none not only will you be unaddicted to it as much as you were, but it’ll be easier to stop as well. I hope this helps
Im not so sure if they have it in your area or not? might want to ask around though there are meetings for people to quit smokeing they give you free patches also to help you out.The lady i work with was a very heavy smoker two to three packs a day and she attended these meetings and she quit smokeing she wanted to quit and thats one thing you have to want bad enough in order to do so. she now hasnt smoked for going on four years now.
I hope they offer the same services in your area good luck!
what i did was find a friend to quit with amd whenever you have a craing chew gum or something and have a very good excuse to stop smoking like . i’m doing it for the kids or something and say that over and over in your head when you have craving and the number one thing to do is never give in .
My dad used to smoke and I don’t mean occausily, proberly 30 or more a day. The doctor kept telling him to quit. he also went to the resturant & drank coffee several times a day.
One day he came home from his coffee routine & took his b.p. (he very seldom took it, and never did that after any of his "coffe breaks" , it wasn’t really high, but high for him, he didn’t feel right. He went to the doctor, told he had prostate. He was told to loose weight, cut down on caffiene & most importly quit smoking. He felt funny for awhile without his cigs. but he found the secret to quitting smoking ,,,,, "You have to WANT to quit." Leave those patches, gums, ect. alone. If you really want to quit you can. Again… You have to WANT to quit smoking, if you don’t really want to quit, then why try ?
Difficult to stop smoking, only can stop somking who has a strong brain and stay with promise.Earlier I was smoking approx 15 years as a change smoker.I tried many many times but failed oneday I promised anything can be hapend I will never smoke,in this way I stop smoking now 20 years I can,t bear the small of smoking.
Find some nazi’s to terrorize the s_it out of you for it. Starting at 13 makes you half dead.
tell you what worked for me i smoked for 32 years & JESUS & WELLBUTRIN DID THE JOB. WISH I HAD STOP A LONG TIME AGO NOW I HAVE LUNG TROULBLE.
I’m a former smoker. I’ve stopped and started probably 20 times over my life. I’ve stopped now, and I hope it sticks. Here are some things I learned that I really hope help you.
-it’s damn hard to stop smoking
-your not a bad person if you smoke
-to stop smoking is like losing a friend or a fun hobby (seriously)
- I’m most likely to say "screw it, I’m smoking!" after I’ve had a bad day, I’m drunk, or out with my friends who smoke as well
-I realized that I didn’t want to be 45, have children who depended on me, and come down with cancer and die, leaving them alone just because I didn’t have the balls to quit smoking
Good luck – and remember, if you start smoking again after quitting for a month, don’t give up cause that month STILL COUNTS as you being a non-smoker – and it’s just another step leading up to the day you will quit for good!
