im 38 years old iv got copd and need a hysterectomy can u die dureing or after the surgery?

You take a chance anytime you have surgery, of not waking up.. Also when you smoke .. it is harder for your body to heal.. But if your Dr is recommending that you have the surgery, make sure they know all the detail and any problems that you have.. They have been doing hysterectomies for a long time..And I think the risk factor is fairly low… I had one ..and depending on what kind, they can be very serious or some are fairly painless.. Heal time and risk vary depending on what kind and the reason for it.. Good luck
