We just found out my mother-in-law has acute leukemia and I want to be tested as a possible donor but I have moderate COPD. Can I donate?

I wouldn’t think that the doctor would clear you as a good donor since COPD is one of the afflictions that would prevent you from being on the national registry of donors. COPD makes you a bigger risk for surgery and doctors should be unwilling to operate on someone with COPD for voluntary basis such as donation of marrow.
