can having a dog make my sons asthma worse?

help me to stop smoking! stop smoking medications, stop smoking help, stop smoking plans and more

My son who is 14 suffered with severe asthma until he was 11 and then seemed to grow out of it.
His asthma has returned over the last couple of months and seems to be getting worse. I dont know if it is a coincidence but we got a dog 3 months ago. Could this of triggered his asthma off again?

Cheap way of damp proofing an asthma sufferers room?

My boyfriend is an asthma sufferer and suffers really bad. Recently he can’t breathe very well when he’s in his room, which is scary for when he’s asleep at night. Not being able to afford much money to pay to have anything extensive done, is there anyway that we could do something to help so he can breathe until we find a place and move out? His room is really the only place is he within the house, most of the time and so would really help him since everything of his is in there, tv, computer etc. Please help!

Can I get into any part of the british armed forces with asthma?

I’ve had asthma my whole life for as long as I can remember, It cleared up for the most part 3 yrs ago when I went from 22stone to 15 stone. I’ve always wanted to join the army but is there any way I can get into any part of the armed forces with asthma? It’s not bad asthma, I’ve never had an attack and it’s only noticeable if I exert myself without taking any Salbutamol or when I wake up in the morning.

Can’t I join the logistics corps or army intelligence?
Ok thanks so far, but is it 3 years without asthma or 3 years without an attack? (I’ve never had an attack and I’m 20) A few months ago I got pretty fit (for me anyway) and I was running 9 minute miles (not sure if thats any good). Shouldn’t they take me if my level of fitness is still very good?

Does anyone find their asthma gets worse just before they get their period?

Days before I come on my asthma gets really bad and I have to use my inhaler loads. Anyone else with this problem?

Is it common to have an Asthma attack 8 years after not having one?

Last night i had a very bad asthma attack that resulted in me being taken to hospital as i don’t keep inhalers any more because i haven’t had an attack since i was about 11 so i thought i grew out of it.

I was given a Nebuliser and prescribed new reliever and preventer inhalers and steroid tablets.

Is it common to go years without having an Asthma attack?

My stepson uses all three coloured inhalers, but i cant seem to find out what the green serevent inhaler does for his asthma. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? also does taking a double dose of the brown inhaler help with a bad non productive cough?

Will it matter that i have asthma when i have sedation for a colonoscopy?

I am having a colonoscopy tomorrow and am really worried about the sedation. How long will it last? Will it make me panic? Will it effect my asthma? Thanks.

If asthma is classified as Mild, mild to moderate, moderate and severe how to you actually clasify them?

I want to know more specifically how one’s asthma is classified, if asthma is classified as Mild, mild to moderate, moderate and severe. How do people get classified as Mild, mild to moderate, moderate and severe asthma and what tests are done for people to be classified as Mild, mild to moderate, moderate and severe asthma.

How many Children attend Primary School in Northren Ireland and the United Kingdom with Asthma?

As the 6th May 2008 is World Asthma Day, I thought I would pose the question on how many Children are going to Primary school and Secondary School with Asthma.

And the second part of the Question is this. Would teachers know what to do if a child has an attack?

What is a way to relieve asthma (weezing) without an inhaler?

My inhaler instantle cures any wheezing or tight chested feelings I get from my mild asthma.

However, if I don’t have an inhaler handy, is there some other method/household product or whatever which may have the same effect?

How does having asthma make you more susceptible to colds?

I was just wondering how asthma does this. Does it supress the immune system? I was just wondering because this is the 2nd cold I’ve had this month and the 4th since October. Before my asthma became bad I hardly ever caught colds and I’ve always eaten healthily.
