…And generally just to feel better. He is feeling so bad right now that he actually started crying. His doctor hasnt made him an appointment yet after finding out thru the x-rays that he had it and its been almost two weeks.Please give me some advice on what I can do, or something he can do, or take to help him feel better. I have had pneumonia (double) several times. I catch colds, flu, whatever is going around. I havepartly blocked airways and I have damage to the air sacs, my airways stay swollen most of the time and I have alot of mucus most of the time also, sometimes so thick it feels like I can’t breathe or it feels like there is a very tiny hole to breathe through. Maybe these details help.
I am only 49 yrs old, I have been told I’m not a candidate for transplant surgery as they have to crack my chest, and I have very low bone density and they say my chest would just shatter, and that I wouldn’t survive the surgery.
And if not, why? Reason I ask is because person in my family has both conditions, and shortness of breath appears to be because of weak heart. How would pacemaker help?

Are there things used in the construction of mobile homes that would not be safe for COPD patients to be in. Would it cause more problems with their symptoms. Are would it be better to live in a house.

I am 34 I was diagnosed a couple of years ago,I am a lifetime Non smoker,I don’t allow it in my house.I dont allow street drugs in my house either.I also have fibromyalgia,asthma,&arthritis.
The back of my lungs ache,is it possible to retain oxygen and still have COPD. If so why do I get really short of breathe, doing hardly anything?? I am on oxygen 24/7

I have moderate emphyzema. I take Advair and albuterol for a fast acting inhaler. I rarely use the inhaler. My problem is that I only need oxygen if I am moving around at all. I have gained 30 #s in the 18 months since I was diagnosed. What exercises can I do? I have done pulmonary rehab but that doesn’t help with the weight.
