I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

You know. I think I would find me another MD. What an As*. I understand the health problems associated with smoking. I smoke myself. But I will not have someone threaten me in that manner. I would sue the As&. But for the patch. Some people have a great success with them Some don’t. You will just have to try and see. They did not work for me. Chantix did not work for me either and Welbutrin made me feel like I wan on crack.
I smoked for 12 years and used the Commit lozenges for the first couple weeks. They don’t taste too good but it gives you that whole "oral fixation" when your craving a cigarette. After a couple weeks I didn’t need them anymore and I was fine. I would try those. Just pop on in when you want a cig. I found it really did take the edge off. (nothing gets rid of the desire completely- that’s where willpower comes in) Good luck!!!!
I was a heavy smoker for a long time,Im now living in New York the patches here are free. They are very expensive to buy, call your local health dept.Ask them what they offer, anyways back to the patches…YES they helped me soooooooo much….now im a non-smoker.If you can get help to pay for them……..its worth the money to save your life.GOOD LUCK!!!!
Hi Terri ..
yes the patch works for many people.. it seems its "different strokes for different folks"… there is really no wrong way to quit..good luck!!
the one thing that appears to be a constant, is that people can improve their chances of quitting. using a support group.. I attend nicotine anonymous meetings, both locally, and online.. online voice meetings are as close as your computer.. while quitting is seldom easy, it is doable with help.. once again good luck, and congrats on your decision its a biggie..

Yes, it can work, but also can fail, no system is perfect.
There are many ways to quitting better than cold turkey, one of the best is following a method.
http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/ is a new approach on quitting without external aids, no weight-gain and minimum withdrawals.
Best of all it is that they don’t try to sell you anything, the site is completely free. It’s like reading an e-book.
There are also other methods including gums, electronic cigarettes, etc. Which method is better for you depends upon many factors, most people try various methods before succeeding.
