I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

I am pretty sure you are referring to Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. This is not a "rare" lung disease. Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is an inherited disorder that can cause lung disease in adults and liver disease in adults and children. Alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) is a protein that protects the lungs. The liver usually makes the protein, and releases it into the bloodstream. Because of a gene problem, some people have little or none of it. Not having enough AAT puts you at risk of emphysema or liver problems. Three in four adults with a severe deficiency will get emphysema, some when they are younger than 40. If you smoke, you increase your risk. Children with AAT deficiency can develop liver problems that last their whole lives.
AAT deficiency can be treated but not cured. One treatment involves adding to or replacing the missing protein. A lung transplant may be an option if you are seriously ill. Staying away from cigarette smoke is crucial.
A blood test can tell if you have the deficiency. If you have it, your family members should also take the blood test.
If your husband has developed emphysema, then there are treatments available to help him cope with the disease. He could benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation and supplemental oxygen. If your husband’s doctor is not a specialist, I would request a referral to a pulmonary specialist. If he is a pulmonary doctor, I would seek a second opinion. Good luck.
I HAVNT HEARD OF THIS WE NEED MORE INFO PLEASE.
Tripdaline i think is the name of a medical drug, not a disease
make sure you get the spelling right then put the name into your browser and see what comes up. it might be a short name for a disease with a longer name, ask the doctor for the longer name WRITTEN DOWN
you will get some medical help sites that explain it or there might even be (if you’re lucky) a support site for people who have it
if he was diagnosed by a GP doctor he should see a specialist and it is part of their job to explain the disease to the patient so do not be afraid to demand answers
Never heard of it sorry. Can you not ask to speak to your husband’s doctor for more information?
Was he maybe talking about an Antitrypsin Deficiency? This is a hereditary condition which may result in serious lung disease in adults. You definitely need to ask his physician for more info.
Good luck to you and your husband:)
It DOES sound like Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
Plenty of treatment is available for lung problems related to Alpha-1, and your husband needs to see a knowledgeable lung specialist.
You’ll find lots of information on this page: alphaone.org
You can click on “Publications” and order brochures.
Also if you click on “Alphas, Friends & Family” and then on the lefthand button “Clinical resource centers” you can find the names of doctors across the country who are familiar with Alpha-1.
Best of luck,
