help me to stop smoking! stop smoking medications, stop smoking help, stop smoking plans and more
I am 19 weeks prego and stopped smoking during my throw up stage but have started back up. I really want to quit but my husband wont quit with me. I smoked my whole pregnancy with my first and he turned out healthy and fine, but with this one i really want to give it the best start. I know my two year old would have weighed more if i hadnt smoked and want this new one to be born with his or her best start and healthy weight. Please dont judge… Women in the 60s 70s and 80s smoked, my mom did with me my husbands mom did with him. I just want to quit and I am having a problem just quitting cold turky.

I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

Hang pics of what your heart and lungs look like because of smoking. You can find lots online. That is what helped myself and my husband quit during my pregnancies.
i quiet by hanging out with more people that didn’t smoke than people that did…..try to walk more too that really helped me….also a big helper (although it sounds weired) put just a couple of cigs in a pack with a bunch of straws….if you pull out a straw you have to wait a couple of hours before you can try again (you set the time) and if you run out of cigs and just have straws your done for the day….it does help really
good luck
I’m not sure what to tell you. I smoked when I found out I was preggo. I quit the day I found out. I had to stop cold turkey. Stop Smoking aids are not a healthy alternative if you are preggo. Go buy lolly pops or another favorite snack and have that when want a cigarette. Or go online and read about all the horrible things smoking does to babies. This can affect your child it’s whole life. And yes women of yesteryear smoked when they were pg but they didn’t have all the info we have today. Also did you know that smoking while pg increases your infants risk of SIDS. Just one of the scary things that can happen. Please quit for your baby, I know it’s hard but it’s more than worth it.
When I was pregnant it was hard for me to quit smoking. What I did was allowed myself to have one a day. I could smoke the whole thing at once or take a few puffs and put it out and re light it later but I could not have more than that one.
You shouldn’t go cold turkey. That is a shock to the system, and not a happy way to go for you or the baby. I am not proud, but I smoked with both of my pregnancies, and my kids are fine. Not that I advocate it, but it happens. I always cut waaayyyy back though. I think after I found out I was pregnant I went from a pack a day to like 3 a day. Pick the times that you always smoke, and limit yourself to those times…coffee and one, after dinner,,,whatever. you will eventually stop all together, or you have done the best you could. Wait till rightous get a hold of this! Stop if you can, it is the hardest thing to do in the world. Ask your doctor for some help, they always have tons of info on how to stop, pass it on to your husband too.
Never smoke in the house though…that is super bad stuff!
what really helped me quit was thinking "each cigarette i dont smoke is making my baby healthier" so everytime i didn smoke when i wanted one i felt good about myself instead of feeling guilty each time i had one. it really takes a lot of will power but if i can do it you can do it. i smoked over a pack a day before i got pregnant.
im 31 weeks now and havent had a cigarette since i was 8 weeks.
another thing i did was eat tons and tons of blow pops. it really helped. you should really get your husband to quit. if he wont you need to tell him not to smoke around you. that was the hardest part for me. being around people who were smoking.
good luck i know you can do it.
You should ask your Dr. what you can use to help you. I personally quit cold turkey during the sick stage too, but just keep telling myself I have to think of someone else first. At first I told myself that it was only for 8 months, then I could smoke again if I want. : ) Now my goal is to not to start again after I have my baby girl.
I know plenty of women who smoked through their pregnancies in the 21st century. Just do your best and ask your Dr. for tips.
good luck!
oh please just stop, of course you can!! you just have to really want it!! i thought i wouldn’t be able to! But i so did it when i found out i was pregnant i never had 1 more cigarette, if i can, you can! i don’t want to be judgemental, but I’ve been there & it completely doable! Step up! think of your baby’s health! Just because your moms did it doesn’t mean it’s ok
