I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

Stop Smoking Tips provides all the information on how to quit smoking

According to a recent report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 20% of male and female adults in the U.S. smoke cigarettes, while more than 80% of them light up a cigarette every day. The reason why smoking has become such an issue is because the addictive effects of nicotine lead to various types of cancers, strokes, and heart attacks. As such, everyday is the RIGHT TIME to quit smoking.

The main goal of Stop-Smoking-Tips.com is to assist smokers aspiring to quit smoking and prevent smokers from having the urge to start smoking again. There are a few ways to quit smoking – the most notable (but not necessarily the most popular) out there right now are as follows:

    *cold turkey
    *gradual reduction
    *nicotine replacement therapy
    *acupuncture
    *hypnosis
    *herbal medicine
    *low-level laser therapy
    *pharmaceutical drugs

Cold turkey is pretty self-explanatory – a few people can do it, most can’t. Nicotine addiction is often so strong that it causes people to break down from the craving. These kinds of quitters usually end up using a quit smoking aid to get rid of the addiction – and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Gradual reduction is where you gradually step down the number of cigarettes you smoke with time – it’s not a bad strategy really.

Nicotine replacement therapy is one I personally vouch for, because it’s easier than some others. Basically, since nicotine is the addictive drug in cigarettes, you ditch the cigarettes and only take controlled doses of nicotine instead. You can gradually reduce the amount of nicotine your body takes in over time using items such as nicotine patches or electronic cigarettes (electronic cigarettes are the newest trend here). More information on both of these devices can be found on the appropriate page of the source site.

Acupuncture and hypnosis are both things that I find are somewhat wishy-washy; however, many people claim they work, and since I haven’t tried them personally I guess I shouldn’t knock them.

Herbal medicine is something that a few people claim works; again, I haven’t used them and I guess I shouldn’t dismiss them, but in general I don’t hear a lot of success stories with this method.

Low level laser therapy is something newer. According to my source, "Low-level laser therapy uses a low power light source to stimulate different points on the hands, face, wrist, and ears, which are claimed to indirectly release endorphins (body chemicals which promote good mood and reduce stress)."

Pharmaceutical drugs are pricy, but I guess they work. You really have to weigh the side effects with the benefits – Chantix’s advertisement on television was 2/3 warnings about side effects, so you really have to watch out.

I’m glad you’re looking to quit. In the end, how you quit is entirely up to you – I have my favorites, other people have theirs. If you want more information, take a look at the source site for more details. Best of luck!

Congratulations for reaching a point of readiness to stop smoking. This is a great time to shed your addiction as whatever damage smoking may have done should quickly reverse once you quit.

Almost two years ago I quit a 34 year 50+ a day addiction to cigarettes with the help of a book called ‘The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. The great thing about this book is that he suggests you keep smoking while reading the book. As you read it, the author addresses the many psychological issues you may have about smoking so that you begin to think differently about it, and tells you exactly how to quit. I gave the book to a smoking friend, he read it and quit immediately.

One gem of information that really helped me it was discovering that physical cravings don’t go on and on; they arise, peak and subside (you can find this out for yourself even while you’re still a smoker). You can actually learn to watch them come and go, and once you no longer are afraid of them they become a non-issue; you might not even notice when they stop happening altogether.

Another wonderful source of information and support is http://www.whyquit.com The site has a ton of helpful articles, videos, quit counters, pdf books and members forum.

At 52 I have far more stamina and greater calmness now that I’m smoke free than I’ve had my whole adult life. I can deal far better with any stresses, my concentration is stronger, my skin looks and smells nicer, even my hair is glossier! My only regret is having waited so long to banish cigarettes from my life. I also put on some weight initially but that is coming off now with a bit of discipline. Once your lungs recover it becomes easier to exercise too.

I can honestly say, that although I once could not imagine life without smoking, even if tomorrow it was discovered that smoking didn’t destroy your health (yeah, right), and cigarettes became free I still wouldn’t go back to them because I feel so much better without them. I feel so passionate about helping spread the word that quitting is really doable I’ve just created a facebook group (open to everyone) called stop smoking salon which has links, tips, stories etc. Feel free to join and post.

Very best wishes for a successful quit.
