help me to stop smoking! stop smoking medications, stop smoking help, stop smoking plans and more
A friend has recently gave me a dinning room table and four chairs, but they stink like cigarette smoke. What can I do to get rid of the smell?

I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

I had the same problem with a chair. I put it out in the sun and sprayed it with Lysol spray (used the Fresh Scent one) then left it in the sun all day and left it outside that night. The next day, I couldn’t smell any smoke at all so I brought it inside and still don’t smell anything on it. Sunlight is great for killing smells.
Use polish on the wood parts, and a fabric freshener like Fabreeze on the material…
Ozium
air it out.
this is a really difficult one – wet a cloth in a solution of a drop of washing up liquid in plenty of water and then wipe the furniture. You can use a room freshener to mask the pong but I think time is going to be the best healer for this – the smell may reduce in time but I’m not convinced as it will probably be ingrained in the wood.
Try Febreze.
I doubt the smell is in the wood. Are the chairs upholstered? If so, it’s probably coming from there. I would rent or borrow a carpet steam cleaner from somewhere and clean the cushions. Watch how much gross stuff comes outta them!
takr it from mr, once the smell gets in your furniture all you can do is get it dry cleaned and deoderized.Im an ex-smoker and I cant stand the smell of ciggarettes anymore, and i tried everything toget the smell out,and finally had to have it done professionally
Wal-Mart has it this is the cheap brand and it works wonders.
Fabric refresher. In a blue spray bottle. Just spray and let it sit. No wiping required. Great to use on clothes, cars, shoes, trash cans, ect.
Shut all the doors and windows in the room and light lots of joss (incense) sticks and fight smoke with smoke. They are the only things which effectively get rid of the stench of cigarettes in my experience. Leave the sticks smoking and the room shut for several hours then open all the windows and doors, which will be even more effective if it is a windy day.
Repeat as often as necessary.
