How long can you live with lung disease that can not be treated?

help me to stop smoking! stop smoking medications, stop smoking help, stop smoking plans and more

My uncle just found out he has lung disease and that there is nothing they can do for him about it. He was really upset and everyone else started balling when they found out and my mom keeps crying over it so I am guessing it is really bad but I don’t know much about lung disease. Can anyone please help me? I want to know how long he has to live?

I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

depends on the lung disease because there are quite a few different lung diseases…..even then, disease tends to be unique to the individual……..sorry i can.t be of more help

It all depends on the severity & his current lifestyle, like if he smokes (which would decrease his life expectancy more) & which type of lung disease & how much lung function he still has at this time.

i don’t know what sort of lung disease it is..but if it’s cancer then it’s the most difficult kind to cure. find out exactly what it is and look it up, and no matter what just be there for your uncle and your family…good luck

Check the American Lung Association website. There’s no way to tell how long one has to live. I am sorry about your uncle.

The only way to prolong the life of someone with lung disease is to opt for lung transplant.. Other than this, there is only medications to help slow down the process of lung damage..

Asthma is a lung disease too, and i have seen people with asthma who can live up to a ripe old age (i.e 75 years old)..

I was born with Alpha 1 which is a lung disease and I found out early in life that I had it, several other people whom have this are in their later years. Sometimes I think we know to much in to days world, and we start taking antibiotics way to soon and then when we really need them they do not work for us. Hope Your Uncle is doing well.Heads up and hope he has something other than Cancer
