I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

Febreze Fabric Refresher eliminates smoke odors, musty smells and other tough odors and restores freshness in fabrics. There are many solutions out there but my first choice is Febreze.

move it outside to a covered porch or similar. be prepared to leave it for awhile. shampoo well with a product designed to remove cig smoke, let it dry. leave it out as long as it takes. a daily spray of febreze will help during this process.

    Several options:
    1. First sprinkle chair (if fabric) with baking soda – let set for 24 hours and then vacuum very well.
    2. Then clean it either professionally or yourself with upholstery cleaner to remove the residue left by smoking.
    3. Place saucers of white vinegar all around it to neutralize the odor. Charcoal will have the same effect.
    4. Remove it from any area that is carpeted as carpet absorbs odors as well. If the smell gets in the carpet, sprinkle a mixture of 1 cup of Borax and 2 cups cornmeal – leave on for a hour – then vacuum.

I make a spray out of vinegar and water with essential oils to remove smoke odors from my furniture, rugs and curtains in my house. I add 2 cups of white vinegar with 2 cups of water and about 10-12 drops of essential oil in a 32 oz spray bottle and just spray away. It will smell of vinegar for awhile until it dries but it really does help remove odors. (test a hidden area if concerned first) Also, leaving it outside to let it air when it’s not going to be raining will help too.

It may be too far gone though if shes had it for a long time. The smell may have penetrated the fibers all the way through to the padding and the only thing that will help is to have it reupholstered.
