0ut of the hospital 3 days ago was in the hospital 6days . now using oxygen how long will i have to use it?

I am suprised that they sent you home on oxygen. They are not supposed to. In every hospital that my husband and I worked at, we had to wean patients off the oxygen before they went home. Given your history of COPD, my guess is that the oxygen will be with you forever. It is most likey that you have it because you need it due to the lack of O2 that COPDers have. Call your Dr. to confirm it, but that would be my guess.
They are sending patients home sooner and sooner these days. Where once we had the chance to wean someone off O2 we now have to send them home with it. With your history of COPD I’m not surprised at all that you need O2 at home. Pneumonia with COPD really kicks your butt. You might just need it for a little while but this could also have been a turning point in your COPD and you will now need it for good. Or you might need it all the time when you get home but as you get better you might be able to take it off during the day and just put it back on at night or when your sleeping.
You should follow your doctor’s advice to the letter.
