The best way of quitting is following a method. http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/ is a new approach on quitting for everyone who seriously wants to stop smoking, and it's completely free; there's no need to buy anything, no medications, no gum nor patches, even no weight-gain.

Find a reason to quit, embrace the reason in place of your addiction.

We need our own reason, no one can give it to you. Consider a few things though...

First, you will never NOT like smoking. Admit to yourself that for the rest of your life, you will have to actively choose not to smoke. You won't have the luxury that some people have of finding the habit gross and disgusting, you will always find it appealing. Always.

Next, identify situations which force you to make that choice, and focus on them. Sitting in a non-smoking office all day does not present the choice, other than to go outside and smoke. That, you can push through. It's when it is right in front of you that it become the hardest...those times you need to push through, and you need to focus on them one at a time.

With me, I liked the smoke after a long day of work. Driving home meant smoking. I could work hard enough to keep my mind off of it, but once in the car...it was over. So I dedicated a lot of energy to that.

Don't rely on anything but yourself...that's the bottom line. People fail because they think a patch or some gum will fix them. Truth is, if they have not found a reason to quit, they will fall right off that wagon.

My reason was my health, and my desire to be around for my future kids. Health is a great one...start a daily cardio work out, and you'll start finding all sorts of reasons to want to quit.

Some people might need some sort of quitting aid, I did not. If you're serious, you shouldn't. The physical addiction is broken quickly, side effects are gone in less than 2 weeks.

Mental addiction is all you need to get through.

Look at this for what it is, make up your mind, and change.

Go to a drug store or local CVS pharmacy and purchase some patches. Just out em' anywhere you would like and keep usin' em' and then you will all of a sudden just stop liking them.

A lot of what Gus says above is true but I disagree that you will spend the rest of your life choosing not to smoke. I quit, finally, 5 months ago and up to that point I would have agreed with him but I now have no desire whatsoever to smoke, the thought of it makes me feel sick. The very thought of having to spend the rest of your life craving cigarettes is what keeps some smokers smoking. It doesn't have to be this way, you have to change the way you see smoking. Once you start to see smoking for what it really is, past all the hype and conditioning we all suffer from the tobacco industry, you will be on your way.

Quitting is not easy it requires preparation and dedication but if you do it right then you will be free from smoking forever.

Decide to do it and decide why you are doing it. Do it for you and no one else. Pick a day and look forward to it, quitting is something to be celebrated, not feared. Pick a method, I personally chose Allen Carr's method this time, very powerful but not for everyone.

Go for it and good luck.
