help me to stop smoking! stop smoking medications, stop smoking help, stop smoking plans and more
If the cigarette prices are high enough, people will have no choice but to stop buying them and buy things they actually need like food and clothing. Im sick of these stinky, filthy littering fire hazard smokers! They should raise the cigarette prices to 0 a pack. Its POISON for me to have to breath that smoke!

I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

I’m not disagreeing that cigarettes are an awful habit; however, they are not the only poison in the world that we are exposed to daily. Would you think it fair if I stated that I think gas should be $50 a gallon, I mean we went hundreds of years without it, and truely who needs cars that pollute our air with their poisons? Your comment (to me) makes about as much sense.
As a society we need to work on prevention, raising the prices hasn’t worked so far, and yes I believe even if they were $100/pack many would still smoke. It would be a better idea to not only educate kids to not do it, but also provide effective options for quitting for low or no cost.
no i would just shell out the money to buy them
If you don’t like it, don’t hang out around people that smoke. Just like it is your right not to have to smell the smoke, it is a smoker’s right to smoke if they want to.
My son, my husband, and myself all have food and clothing, and we do not buy cigarettes if there is something else that needs to be bought first. I am not stinky or filthy. I do not litter, and I only smoke in approved areas when I am in a public place. I am courteous enough to ask the people around me if they mind if i smoke. If they don’t mind, I happily go somewhere else. And just to let you know, even if they raised them to 100 dollars a pack… I would probably still smoke, just not as often.
You on the other hand are probably one of those people who would just sit there and fake cough and make ugly comments instead of politely asking a smoker to move somewhere else, or just moving a few feet away yourself.
I can guarantee that a smoker has never come up to you and made an ugly comment to you for being a non-smoker… why don’t you have the same courtesy, and worry about your own life and health rather than ragging on the smokers?
I agree but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Over here in Australia, the price of cigarettes just went through the roof in an effort to force people into giving up. No-one I know has or even plans to…it’s an addiction to them and they will go through ANYTHING in order to support their addiction. A lot of people I know spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars stocking up on cartons and packets in the couple of weeks before the price rise took effect. Others I know have just gone to buying illegal chop-chop tobacco imported from Asia and sold under the table. As far as I know, it hasn’t forced one single person to give up the ol’ coffin nails, it’s just made them have even less available money for the essentials (including their children’s basic needs like food, clothing, school supplies).
Whine, whine, whine.
No. The government doesnt care about people quitting smoking. They just want to make more money from the cigarette taxes. Once people do quit smoking, where are they gonna get that renevue from next?
Well then perhaps they should raise the price of all non-necessities to the point of no one being able to buy them? I’m sure you enjoy some non-essentials in life too that other people would consider to be a bad choice. It’s not your place to decide if someone can/should smoke or not. If you don’t want to breathe it then don’t be around it, that is your choice. The prices are already outrageous. Be honest this has nothing to do with not having kids smoking, if kids want to smoke they will find a way even if it’s through stealing, you just want to make smoking impossible because you’re against it. Don’t try to disguise it as caring for kids.
I’m not a smoker, in fact, I’m an asthmatic. I hate cigarette smoke because it is one of my biggest asthma triggers. I live in a house with a smoker, I would love for him to stop, but the decision is his alone to make. I won’t tell a smoker he can’t smoke or support higher prices on cigarettes because I don’t want higher prices on things that I like but don’t "need". It is not the governments job to tell people whether or not they can smoke. People like you are the reason we are losing our freedom a little bit more every day.
