Is there a dog that doesn’t provoke allergies and asthma in dander sensitive and allergic people?

I love dogs and cats but have suffered from severe allergies and asthma my whole life. I am looking for a dog which won’t provoke asthma and will have a calm temperment, we live in a community which won’t tolerate an anxious or aggressive pet.

Although it is not food, can anyone tell me if ventolin inhalers for asthma are ok for vegans ?

I am a vegan and would like to use one just for today (as i don’t normally get asthma) but i am not sure if it contains any animal products ? Thanks
F.A.O. the assumptive one called Sonya : I AM asthmatic, I just get it very occasionally from the odd allergy. I used to have it all the time as a child and regularly used the inhaler BEFORE I became vegan. But I don’t want to come across as rude, Sonya.

It hurts to breathe while exercising and I have to spit a lot. Could I have asthma or something?

I Can’t Breathe Well, What’s Wrong? When I exercise, even just running on the treadmill, it hurts to breathe. I have to breathe very deeply and long. I feel like I have to spit every other second because I can’t breathe well. My legs nor body gets tired, just my breathing doesn’t seam right. Could I have asthma or could something else be wrong?

Do I need more medication for my asthma?

I am taking beclametasone (preventer), Salbutamol (reliever) and montekulast singulair (add on) for my asthma. I have started to wake up at night coughing and having to use my reliever at least once a day. I don’t have a chest infection so I’m not sure whether to go to the doctors or not? Can he do anything else to help me?

My daughter has been diagnosed with asthma?

She will be 3 years old in March.

She goes to asthma clinic once a month and is on 2 different inhalers.

I wondered if anyone has any suggestions on what would be best for her?

Anti allergy pillows?
Laminate floor in her bedroom?

Is there anything special that needs to be done to make life easier for her?

Giving an 18 month old asthma inhaler through a nebuliser?

After a recent trip to the doctor it was diagnosed that my 18 month old son could possibly has asthma. He was prescribed two inhalers which should be administered through a nebuliser. He is supposed to take 5-10 breaths from the nebuliser for each one, however he gets really upset when he sees it or when we try and give it to him. This means we are lucky if he can get one or two breaths from it. We have tried to put him more at ease with it, by pretending to take it ourselves or pretending to give it to his teddies but it doesn’t seem to make any difference, he will still get really upset.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to help him be more comfortable with taking it? If any one has had any similar situations with their children and any solutions they found that worked.
Any advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can I get into any part of the british armed forces with asthma?

I’ve had asthma my whole life for as long as I can remember, It cleared up for the most part 3 yrs ago when I went from 22stone to 15 stone. I’ve always wanted to join the army but is there any way I can get into any part of the armed forces with asthma? It’s not bad asthma, I’ve never had an attack and it’s only noticeable if I exert myself without taking any Salbutamol or when I wake up in the morning.

Can’t I join the logistics corps or army intelligence?
Ok thanks so far, but is it 3 years without asthma or 3 years without an attack? (I’ve never had an attack and I’m 20) A few months ago I got pretty fit (for me anyway) and I was running 9 minute miles (not sure if thats any good). Shouldn’t they take me if my level of fitness is still very good?

Does anyone find their asthma gets worse just before they get their period?

Days before I come on my asthma gets really bad and I have to use my inhaler loads. Anyone else with this problem?

Is it common to have an Asthma attack 8 years after not having one?

Last night i had a very bad asthma attack that resulted in me being taken to hospital as i don’t keep inhalers any more because i haven’t had an attack since i was about 11 so i thought i grew out of it.

I was given a Nebuliser and prescribed new reliever and preventer inhalers and steroid tablets.

How do you get someone to stop smoking at work?

I started a new job a month ago. I was so happy because I finally got decent pay and health insurance. Unfortunately, this was too good to be true. One of my coworkers smokes in the office. I have asthma and am allergic to cigarette smoke. Everytime she lights one up, I start smothering. I told my boss in person about my health condition and all he said he’d do is put up automatic door closers on the doors around her (she smokes in the doorway of the building so she can stay by the phone). Well, about 2 or 3 weeks went by, and he’d still not put anything up. I decided to email him and tell him again. I asked him if he could ban smoking indoors completely. Well, finally he decides to put those automatic door closers on there. But guess what, she props her door open! It’s terrible!

Anyway, have any of you dealt with smokers at work. How do you get someone to stop. The bad thing is, my boss is a smoker too! So he doesn’t care! If they don’t stop, I’m going to have to find another job!
Well, about speaking to her directly. She can be very mean. She was very ugly to me at first, and then someone talked to her for me, and now she’s nice. I don’t know how she’d react if I told her to stop.
The reason she smokes in the doorway is because she’s a dispatcher. If she goes outside completely, she’ll miss a call or something on the radio.
I did talk to my boss. He’s a smoker as well and does not care about my condition. Also, if I cause a big stink about this, everyone is going to dislike me because the majority of people there seem to smoke. The other non-smokers are medics and get to get away. I’m an office person and always have to be there. Eh, it sucks. :(
