I stopped smoking about 3 months ago (cold turkey), but i still have an urge to smoke, some times it’s a very strong urge. how can i get this feeling to go away? what i have been doing is eating when i get that urge, but i can tell i am gaining some extra pounds (which i don’t want either) Thank you for your help

I have recently been told that there are some prescription medicines that help you to stop smoking, and that they work very well. Has anybody tried them? If so, what one did you try, and how well has it worked for you?

I quit smoking with no help from any drugs, cold turkey as we all call it almost 2 months ago. and yes have not cheated this time. Most certain I do not want to go back. I have the worst night sleeping by waking up many times which I never did before. Help I hate it but do feel better. smoked for 15 years.

My husband is having issues with quitting smoking what is the best way to help him quit he quit when my daughter was first born and asked him to do it for me and the kids but is having a hard time quitting cold turkey he has cut down. anyone ever been through this? I know its hard, and he really wants to quit and I want to help. thanks.

if you have a panic/anxiety disorder, does stopping smoking cold turkey make it worse?

I know they say it doesn’t form a true addiction, like heroin or other stuff. But since I stopped smoking marijuana over a year ago, I still want the stuff, like I can almost taste it. How do you make that stop?
I stopped because I had NO self-control; I was smoking the good stuff, as one person said, and smoking was all I did. I stopped cold turkey; but still I get these cravings for the stuff.

Ive smoked for going on 9 yrs. Im 22.I already know smoking is bad for me. I dont want any bullshit answers, serious answers only please. Ive tried "Quit Line Iowa". Ive tried cold turkey. Ive stopped when I got really sick but cant seem to beak the cycle. Please again, serious answers only. Im not here to be bashed.
I also was prescribed welbutrin, but makes me feel flighty.

Hi, I want to stop smoking but I am having some problems. I have tried patches and gum and they have help me cut down but I can not stop, I have also done cold turkey but that was sooo bad. I thought I could try a hypnotist but I not sure about losing control for a while. I you have tried a hypnotist can you tell me what it is like please? If you did it to stop smoking did it work for you.

ive been smoking for about 4 years and need to stop. i smoked about a 1/2 a pack a day. so is it better to quit cold turkey or ween off them? how long dose the hardest part last? if you know of any tips that worked for you please let me know.

I would like to stop smoking cold turkey. Im affraid of going for food while doing this and getting fat. Is their anything I can do or take so I dont go for food as a substitution? And is it safe to stop cold turkey?

I have quit once before, cold turkey, but it didn’t last very long. Some other friends have used products to help them quit with better, long term, results. Anyone out there who can recommend a good product? I would prefer answers from people with first hand experience but everything helps!

I am trying to quit smoking (cigarettes and weed) and it’s so hard cause my boyfriend does it and we live together he doesn’t pressure me i just smell it and im done so i need a sure fire way to quit cold turkey im trying to get a job and it’s not good for my health (asthma) and what are some good ways o get it out of your system faster then a month im starting this job program on the 21st and they will have a job waiting for me plz help im trying to get my life together

I am bound and determined to quit smoking, it’s been two days since I’ve had a smoke. I used to smoke a pack a day. I went cold turkey, and am using nicotine gum But the cravings are still really strong to smoke. I know individual experience will vary, but how long did it take for your really bad cravings to go away?

Is this normal part of the detoxing period and if so how long till my headaches stop. I’m not on any meds I quit cold turkey and am not having cravings either. Any advice?

I have been smoking for about 14 years. i will be thirty next week and desperately want to quit. I have used the patch and quit for over a year, however the patch gave me a horribly painful rash and severe nightmares, even when i didn’t where it at night. Glad you quit smoking but that really isn’t something to be proud of. Do you not have a job? I need something NOT illegal that I can use at work.

I quit all nicotine products about a week ago and I’ve since started having nightmares. I quit cold turkey, so no patches or gum could be the cause. I’ve been waking up 7-8 times a night at different hours after having crazy dreams, some are nightmares and some are just confusing. I haven’t had a solid nights sleep in a week and I could really use any feedback or help. Is this related to quitting? Does it last long? Any remedies?
