help me to stop smoking! stop smoking medications, stop smoking help, stop smoking plans and more
My boyfriend died of copd last month & I have found out that these two medications can be very dangerous if taken for long periods of time.

im sorry for your loss…. prednisone is a steroid and steroids are very aggressive and strong medication. they reduce the inflammatory process, however, if taken for long periods of time, steroids could cause puffy face, hypertensive crisis, insomnia, and an allergic reaction. albuterol also known as albuterol sulfate is a bronchodilator. bronchodilators dilate the bronchi (airway) of the patient with copd in order to help him take in more air and enhance oxygenation to his body cells. however when taken for long period of time also, bronchodilators may cause increased pulse rate and in patients cardiac arrest.
Albuterol can also cause high blood pressure.

When Drs give meds that make things worse, I stop taking them
Prednisone reduces inflammatoy response and can disguise bad infections. Albuterol has side effect of an adrenergic drug, but I am sure your doctor has explained this.
I am feeling bad for you. That had to be very difficult for you.
I have COPD. I doubt that those drugs had anything to do with his death. He would have had bad side effects before it killed him. If you have any questions, you can email me if you would like to.
