Will the new tax laws on Tobacco now force people to quit smoking?

Way I looke at it, If Tobacco companies can put things such a nicotine in cigarettes and hook people, thus making themselves rich, why can’t the government get their hands on some of the nicotine slaves money too! (sarcasm)

Do smokers feel like slaves to the Tobacco industry and to our government now? Here in NC, the average carton of Cigs will go up 6 dollars as of monday morning!

BTW……Im not a smoker!

I know exactly how you feel, I was in a very similar situation. I remember that I was so nervous at that time and I took it out on everyone around me. I didnt know what could I do until, thanks god, I found Smoke Deter. Now I can look back and laugh on myself and in the same time I remember how helpless I was. I hope that I'll never be in the same situation again

No….people hooked on drugs, and tobacco is one of the worst, will pay anything and almost do anything to keep the habit going…this is why the government can increase the taxes on tobacco as much as they want……The government may encourage you to quit smoking but they know it’s a losing battle….Smokers are not slaves to tobacco companies, they are slaves to the nicotine habit….the end result of those circumstances ? "Keep on smoking and we’ll count the money."

If it does cause people to quit, where will the tax money come from then? Your favorite soda? Chips? Candy? Etc, etc. This is a can of worms that should have never been opened.

I’m not quittin. They can be had without the tax. This government will not be happy until there is a huge black market in cigarettes. Think I’m joking?Check out the streets of New York. It’ll be another war on drugs that they can’t win.

No, people still smoke, a few may try to stop. The people stealing them will go way up ! It always does when the tax goes up !
